Constantly challenging and exploring the use of acrylics and watercolor to achieve excellence in representational art is the continuing quest for this local Texas artist. His Central Texas subjects include the San Antonio missions, Hill Country landscapes, bluebonnets, quail, turkey, deer, and longhorns. His love for the Texas coast is shown in his shrimp-boats, fish, waterfowl, and seascapes.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
George Schwegmann is a native of San Antonio who has grown up with a deep appreciation for the rich natural, historical, and cultural environment of South Central Texas. With a Bachelor’s degree in
Zoology and two years of Architectural Design, this self-taught artist depicts a wide variety of unique visual compositions.
George is an award winning member of the San Antonio River Art Group. In 1997 he won First Prize in the River Art’s Exhibition & Competition in the Acrylics as Watercolors category, judged by Dalhart Windberg, a renown Texas artist. His paintings have won numerous awards from 1997 to the present. Over the past decade, admiration for his work has grown rapidly as several gallery owners and private collectors have added his paintings to their collections.
